No. STDcheck is a real company that uses CLIA-certified labs and FDA-approved or cleared tests. Most negative reviews involve fees, refunds, or customer service, not fake or inaccurate results.

Is STDcheck Accurate?

Yes. STDcheck uses the same lab tests, processed in the same kinds of certified labs, that doctors and hospitals use. Accuracy depends most on timing, so test after the window period for each infection.

Does STDcheck Show Up On Insurance?

No. STDcheck does not bill insurance, so nothing appears on your insurance statements. You can request an itemized receipt if you want to submit for reimbursement yourself.

How Long Do STDcheck Results Take?

Most results are ready in 1 to 2 business days after your lab visit. HIV RNA, trichomoniasis, and Mycoplasma genitalium can take up to an extra week.

Do I Need An Appointment?

No. You can walk into any STDcheck partner lab during business hours with your order code. The visit usually takes about 5 minutes.

Can I Use My HSA Or FSA Card?

Yes. STDcheck accepts HSA and FSA cards, along with credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo.

What Happens If I Test Positive?

You can speak with an STDcheck doctor, who can send a prescription to your pharmacy if appropriate, for $95. You can also anonymously notify past partners through STDcheck's notification tool. Most bacterial STDs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and trichomoniasis, are curable with antibiotics, and hepatitis C is now curable in most cases with antiviral medication.

Can I Cancel My STDcheck Order?

Yes, before you visit the lab. STDcheck refunds the order minus a 20% cancellation fee. If you cancel more than 21 days after purchase, you receive credit toward future testing instead of a refund.

Does STDcheck Test For Herpes Without Symptoms?

Yes. STDcheck's herpes 1 and 2 tests are blood antibody tests, so you do not need an active sore. Keep in mind that a positive herpes 1 result is very common and often reflects oral herpes. Learn more in our herpes testing guide .
